TV/Movie update
Some excellent looking stuff on the near horizon, including The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, the final season of Lost, season 3 of Mad Men, and more.
Terry Gilliam’s latest film The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus has already achieved a certain notoriety for featuring the final performance by Heath Ledger, but the film promises much more than that. Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell step in to augment Ledger’s work in what looks like a visually spectacular piece. Watch the trailer and see for yourself.
The premiere of the final season of Lost is something I’ve been obsessing about for several years, dreading and anticipating in equal measure. These promos from ComicCon amuse and intrigue, and by the way, Hurley needs to be cast in more stuff, he’s really really good.
Mad Men is premiering in just two days on August 16th! Vanity Fair has a great profile of head writer/creator Matthew Weiner with the usual glam photos (not quite as compelling as usual) by Annie Liebowitz to accompany.
Community actually looks entirely hilarious and confirms my suspicion that Joel McHale of Talk Soup is a funny guy for real. Love the Breakfast Club shout out, and the tone and the setting. Community college can definitely be an unintentionally funny place, with all those different populations turning up.
And finally, a tortoise chasing a tomato. Enjoy.
