Going stir crazy in my apartment (which is lovely)

After a relaxing yet nervy week in Chicago, we arrived in Brooklyn nearly two weeks ago. Jon started work on Monday, so I’ve been left to my own devices for over a week now, which I would have hoped would mean that I’ve seen lots of part of New York by now. Instead, it means that I’ve sat inside my apartment with no air conditioning, waiting for internet hookup (two full days for that to happen) and now for various homey packages. But NONE OF THEM HAVE ARRIVED. UPS keeps coming by and not delivering them. Today is a special case as I left a note outside, as instructed by UPS, for the driver to call me. No call. I call the UPS person, who says, “the driver doesn’t carry a cell phone, you should never ask them to call you.”

No words, just horror and rage. The driver is supposed to return later today. Hope is nearly dead.
